Hello Friends and Family!
Most of you know by now of our plans to adopt a baby girl form China. We have finally finished all of our paperwork and our dossier has been sent to China. If all goes well, we should be traveling to China to bring home our daughter this
winter. Our boys are very excited to be planning for a little sister. While we wait, I am taking on the rather ambitious project of making a 100 Good Wishes Quilt. There is a Chinese custom of sewing a quilt for new babies, made from scraps of fabric sent by friends
and family members of the expectant couple. Each scrap is to be sent along with a written prayer, wish, poem or scripture
verse for the new baby. Tradition states that the little one will sleep under the good wishes of family and friends.
We would love for you to participate!
If you will, please send two 5 x 5 squares of cotton fabric (new or recycled) along with your wish for our
little one. Also, attach a small scrap of the fabric to your written note so
that as years go by we will always remember which square of the quilt came from you!
Looking forward to introducing the newest member of the Martin family to you
in 2004!
Send those "prayers and squares"!
Tina (for Steve and the boys)
